The Panthers were outplayed on both sides of the ball in a 34-13 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Three interceptions for Cam Newton, over five yards per carry for the Saints running game, and a secondary that couldn’t keep up with Drew Brees and the rest of the pass catchers all contributed to a loss that dropped the Panthers record to 2-1. The offensive tackles played poorly for most of the game, leaving Cam Newton without time to throw on many occasions, but Newton was inaccurate or showed bad decision making throughout the contest, missing Devin Funchess twice down the sidelines and throwing two of his interceptions seemingly straight to the Saints. To add injury to insult, the Panthers also lost Kelvin Benjamin to a knee injury in the first half; if you missed the game, check out our full recap hereĀ and enjoy some pictures from official Riot Report photographer Jesse Fraetis.
