Carolina Panthers

For a short week, a clean injury report like this is a blessing for the Panthers. Look for Jairus Byrd and Colin Jones to split time as they did last week, with Jones manning the safety spot in running situations and Byrd on obvious passing downs in relief of Kurt Coleman as he gets healthy from the MCL sprain suffered last week at New England. Tyler Larsen will get the start for the fourth straight week for an offensive line group that Pro Football Focus called the second-best offensive line in the league.

Head coach Ron Rivera was fairly straightforward with who would and wouldn’t play after today’s practice. With this being a short week, there are players missing practice today that would have been out there on the Thursday of a normal week. However, most players say that they’re still recovering from Sunday on Tuesday, so it’s no surprise a player like Jonathan Stewart isn’t playing.

On a short week, teams don’t actually practice; teams are forced, however, to submit an injury report to the NFL of what a ‘simulated’ practice might look like and who might and might not practice. So take this table with a huge grain of salt. Actually, take the whole shaker.
