Another week, another dominant defensive performance for the Carolina Panthers. While the coast changed, but the result was the same; only three points allowed and a victory, this time 9-3 over the Buffalo Bills in the team’s home opener. While former defensive coordinator Sean McDermott successfully flummoxed Cam Newton and the Panthers offense, the defense more than did their job by limiting all-pro running back LeSean McCoy to nine yards on 12 rushing attempts and holding the Bills offense overall to 176 yards. Tight end Greg Olsen suffered a broken foot and will be missed for a multitude of games; a timeline has not been established for his recovery as of yet.
