While preseason games may not count towards a team’s final record, they’re a great way to gauge your team’s performance and see some tryout footage from players fighting to make a roster spot. While the Panthers defeated the Texans 27-17, the real stories were the outstanding play from former South Carolina Gamecock Damiere Byrd, who had 98 yards and two scores; and wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who took the first step towards silencing his critics with two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown, the latter coming on a spectacular catch over 5’11” starting cornerback Johnathan Joseph. As always, official The Riot Report photographer Jesse Fraetis was there to capture it. Enjoy some photos from the game, and feel free to share them with your friends. Keep Pounding!
