A week after starting at left tackle, Greg Little looks as if he will miss this weekend’s game against the Washington Redskins and the Panthers will once again be changing starters at the all-important position – Little, Dennis Daley, Taylor Moton and Daryl Williams have all started on the outside of the offensive line this season. Little missed his third consecutive practice on Friday because of an ankle injury and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game; he suffered the injury in the Panthers 34-31 loss against the New Orleans Saints and was replaced by Dennis Daley at left tackle.

Little has been prone to injuries thus far in his career as he has been limited to just four games in 2019 – he was in the concussion protocol for six weeks and now will likely sit because of the ankle injury.

“He’s trying to play,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. “He’s trying to be healthy as he plays – you just wish he could stay healthy.”

The Panthers offensive line could really be short handed against the Redskins as tackle Taylor Moton is also questionable due to a knee injury, but he appears on track to play, although he has practiced with a large brace on his right leg.

Safety Eric Reid (ankle/shoulder) is also listed as questionable after missing Friday’s practice. He was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice.

Rookie running back Jordan Scarlett was the only player listed as out, but a few hours after the injury report was released. the Panthers placed Scarlett on injured reserve Friday afternoon. Scarlett played in nine games this season, mostly on special teams (113 snaps) as he carried the ball just four times on only seven offensive snaps in his rookie season; Scarlett was injured on a first quarter special teams play during the Panthers loss to the Saints.

Carolina drafted Scarlett in the fifth round out of Florida in April’s draft.

To fill Scarlett’s spot on the roster, the team has activated offensive lineman Brad Lundblade from the practice squad. Lundblade is the second player the Panthers have brought up this week; earlier in the week, the Panthers signed offensive lineman Garrett McGhin to their active roster after placing left guard Greg Van Roten on IR – Carolina is expected to start
