Angelichio spent 2019 in Washington – see, the coaching pipeline between Carolina and Washington can go both ways! – as tight ends coach and has been in the game for 25 years, including coaching the position in Tampa Bay, Cleveland, and Green Bay; with both Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed landing on injured reserve last season, third-year tight end Jeremy Sprinkle set career highs in both receptions (26) and receiving yards (241).

The former wide receiver who transitioned into coaching in 2008 has spent the bulk of his career at the college level – including with Rhule at Temple and Baylor – and has worked at the NFL level with the Tennessee Titans in 2017.

  • Assistant (Wide Receivers) Offensive Coach Damiere Shaw

Shaw served for two years as an offensive quality control coach at Baylor for Rhule before heading to Fordham University in February 2019 to coach the wide receivers; Shaw was also both a student and graduate assistant for Temple under Rhule from 2013-16 after suffering an injury as a freshman that moved him from the field to the sidelines.

Meyer has spent the past three seasons as the Chargers’ offensive line coach and run game coordinator – under his tutelage, the Chargers rushed for over 1,400 yards in each of the past three seasons, including over 1,800 in 2018. Meyer began his NFL coaching career in Chicago in 2013 as assistant offensive line coach and was in Chicago for two seasons.

  • Assistant offensive line coach Marcus Satterfield

Satterfield was tight ends coach at Baylor last season and was Rhule’s offensive coordinator at Temple from 2013-15.

  • Defensive pass game coordinator/secondary coach Jason Simmons

Simmons spent nine seasons with the Packers and was defensive backs coach in 2019 after a quick ascension up the ranks – the former safety who played ten years in the league went from being an administrative assistant (2011-14) to assistant special teams (2015-17) to coaching the defensive backs in 2019 – the Packers allowed only 19 passing touchdowns while compiling 17 interceptions.

  • Cornerbacks coach Evan Cooper

Cooper was assistant cornerbacks coach at Baylor last season – Cooper served as the director of player personnel at Temple after previously serving as a graduate assistant for the Owls before heading to Baylor to work with Rhule.

  • Coaching assistant Cedric Whitaker

Whitaker spent last season as cornerbacks coach for Houston Baptist University after two seasons as defensive backs graduate assistant coach at Baylor under Rhule; while at Baylor, Whitaker helped the Bears rank third in the conference in passing defense, while being responsible for defensive signal calling and communicating defensive and special teams adjustments.

  • Senior offensive assistant/Running backs coach Jeff Nixon

While the role has yet to be determined, it appears that Nixon will take the running backs coach role as that was his focus at Baylor under Rhule as co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach – his ties go even further back than most of those on the staff with the Panthers head coach….the two were college roommates and teammates at Penn State before starting their coaching careers at essentially the same time. Nixon and Rhule were also teammates in high school in State College, PA.

Nixon had a long stint in the NFL before joining Rhule at Baylor, working with the Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers and Dolphins from 2007-16.

  • Coaching assistant EJ Barthel

Barthel was hired by Rhule in 2016 to work as recruiting coordinator at Temple before Rhule eventually headed to Baylor to coach the Bears, but the former UFL running back was retained at Temple by Geoff Collins before moving to Penn State. Barthel eventually returned to the sidelines as running backs coach for the University at Albany before holding the same position at William & Mary last season.

Siravo spent five years at Temple before transitioning with Rhule to Baylor – in 2019, Siravo helmed the linebacking corps while contributing on special teams. The 43-year old spent four years under Rhule at Temple as linebackers coach; Siravo coached two linebackers to All-AAC honors and was named the 2016 national linebackers coach of the year by FootballScoop. He began his career as a graduate assistant at Boston College in 1998.
