Since 2016, Amazon has produced a series detailing the ins and outs of one team’s journey through the season, whether it was the 2015 Arizona Cardinals team that ended in the NFC Championship Game or the 2017 Michigan Wolverines season or the Los Angeles Rams moving from St. Louis and eventually hiring Sean McVay in 2016 – Wednesday, the Panthers and Amazon announced that the 2018 Panthers season that featured a 6-2 start and a seven game losing streak in David Tepper’s first season as owner will be featured in the newest season of All or Nothing.
The new season will debut on Prime Video on July 19th.
Amazon’s original series produced by NFL Films, which has debuted in the past as early as late April and as late as June 30th in previous seasons, follows a team closely throughout the entire season with tremendous access; expect to see meetings, weight room scenes and the Carolina Panthers from an entirely new perspective. There were additional cameras in the locker room and during press conferences during last season, but those were widely regarded as NFL Films doing extra work to document David Tepper’s first year as owner – but that’s exactly how Amazon wanted it.
“We’re wearing team gear,” NFL Films coordinating producer and showrunner of the 2017 season Keith Cossrow said. “We essentially just want to look like we’re part of the team’s video staff so that nobody really knows we’re there. It’s been a minor miracle that we’re been through two of these seasons without anyone in the world knowing what we were doing until it was over.”
With the trailer hinting that it will include activities after the season is over such as Cam Newton’s shoulder procedure and more, it’s no wonder that this will be the latest in the calendar year All or Nothing has debuted in it’s history.
There will be plenty of great storylines for the show, which is included in a Prime subscription and essentially aims to boil down seven months of NFL behind-the-scenes action into eight episodes, between Cam Newton’s degenerating shoulder, the hotseat for Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney that culminated in a report that David Tepper was considering action during the team’s losing streak, the demotion of Eric Washington, a Thursday night drubbing at the hands of Tepper’s former team, a 20-point fourth quarter comeback in Philadelphia, the injuries to tackles Matt Kalil and Daryl Williams and the signing of Eric Reid.
Sounds like a lot of content that Panthers fans will be excited to have unprecedented access to watch.
Prime members will be able to stream the series via the Prime Video app for TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices and online. Members can also download the series to mobile devices for offline viewing at no additional cost to their membership. The series is a global release and available for Prime Video members in more than 200 countries and territories.
