Rypien doesn’t fit the NFL prototype for what a quarterback should look like, and while his arm talent is only mediocre, he shows high level accuracy traits as well as an unusual processing ability and anticipation, all skills which give him a real chance of being successful in the NFL. Rypien isn’t going to be one of the players being discussed in the first round, but should he fall that far, he offers exceptional value on the final day of the draft – the exact time when the Panthers might be in the quarterback market.
