Coverage Polish

Henderson wasn’t asked to play in press very much at all at Florida – and this is an area where he could stand to develop further for the NFL, but he was asked to play at the line of scrimmage a fair amount, and much of the footwork needed to be effective in press – and at the line in general – was also tested here. He showed good soft feet with limited unnecessary motion while keeping his feet moving to allow him to accelerate to match the receiver:

He then transitions smoothly with nice hip flexibility into stride to match the receiver vertically:

And in off-coverage, he shows great acceleration and balance to break back on the ball underneath:

He did a great job of contesting at the catch point, attacking the ball well in the air and showing the hand-eye coordination to either knock the ball down or force it loose:

In short, there are a lot of things to like with Henderson in coverage beyond just his raw traits, and he shows the detailed footwork to allow him athleticism to flourish in man, with the ball skills to make sure passes were rarely completed against him – even if he didn’t come down with an interception.
